Jaipur's economy

Jaipur's economy relies predominantly on tourism. It is also home to several other thriving industries like manufacturing, trading, and information technology, that also contribute significantly to the GDP of the state.

There are 19 industrial areas in Jaipur. The economy is based on both modern and traditional industries, including metal works, garments, jewellery, handicrafts and perfumes. The products of these units form an important part of country's exports. In fact, Jaipur is known to be India's largest exporters of diamond, gold and stone jewellery.

Jaipur has been rated as one of the best places to visit in India. There are several interesting places and architectural marvels that attract people from all over the world. Vidhan Sabha, the Hawa Mahal and Jal Mahal, the Jantar Mantar, Ajmer Forts, Jaigarh and Nahargarh, as well as the Sanganeri Gate and the Jaipur Zoo are among the major attractions of the city.

Due to the flourishing tourism sector, a number of hotels, resorts, guest houses and lodges have been built in the city that further contribute to the economy. Among its prestigious hotels, you will find the Raj Palace Hotel.

The labour market in Jaipur

Jaipur's labour market is marked by diverse opportunities. Tourism is considered to be the major employment generating sector, followed by other sectors like special economic zones which include firms specializing in engineering, finance, information and communication technology and BPO.

Due to the thriving state of the economy, most of the qualified and skilled workforce of Rajasthan prefer to move to Jaipur for better opportunities and good standards of living. Note that the World Trade Park and the Gaurav Tower are important business hubs to consider during your job search.
