Neighbourhoods of Aalborg

City Centre听

Aalborg Centrum is filled with cute caf茅s, retail stores and streets lined with charming historical buildings. Significant investments to renew the area and make it a modern urban space without disturbing Aalborg's character make it a popular spot for locals and tourists alike. The modernised waterfront is just a stroll away from the centrum and offers rewarding views of the Limfjord. Long-term accommodation options in the centre are limited, and prices may be higher than in other areas.

Around the city centre (脴gadekvarteret, Eternitten and K忙rby)

These areas border the city centre to the east (脴gadekvarteret) and south (Eternitten K忙rby). 脴gadekvarteret comprises mainly low apartment buildings with central courtyards, while K忙rby is a small residential area with a mix of shared houses and stand-alone townhouses.听

Hasseris and M酶lholm

This area lies just west of the city. Popular attractions including one of Aalborg's largest lakes called Kridtgraven and the Aalborg Zoo are located in Hasseris. The area is an upper-class residential area with charming cottage-style houses, with some new housing developments throughout. Hasseris is one of the larger neighbourhoods in Aalborg and borders M酶lholm, an extension of the area further west.听

Accommodation options here include renting rooms or small apartments that are part of a larger house.听

Aalborg 脴st 鈥 Vejg氓rd

Vejg氓rd is a large residential neighbourhood lying east of Aalborg Centrum. The area borders 脴gadekvarteret but has significantly fewer apartment buildings. Rather, the area has a selection of shared houses and stand-alone cottages. Several schools can be found in this area.听

Norresundby

Norresundby lies across the water from Aalborg Centrum and connects to the city by the Limfjordsboren road bridge. This large suburban area makes for an easy 10-minute commute to Aalborg Centrum by bus. This is the ideal area to search for large apartments and houses that can be rented out for as low as DKK 8,000 per month for a four-room villa.听听

Fjordbyen

A very small residential area just west of the harbour,听听is a pleasant area with pathways and an open-air pool. The area borders the harbour where private boats are docked. Since Fjordbyen is very small, it's hard to snag a spot in this trendy community that has turned their houses into homemade works of art.听

Gug and Skalborg

To the south of Aalborg city are the neighbourhoods of Gug and Skalborg. The city's largest collection of retail stores is located at the Aalborg Storcenter in Skalborg. The area also has several sports facilities and is home to the Skalborg Sportsklub.听
