About
I come from Avignon in the South-East of France, 90km north of Marseille, a really nice little place. Here is the intro to a song that well illustrates the area where I come from.
This song was written and played by a Marseille reggae group, which unfortunately no longer exists, RASPIGAOUS: (Imagine Provence, the sun and the cicadas singing):
"In the depths of a country that bad weather never sees
It is a small town, a village, a few households
Where the inhabitants, intimately, live in harmony
With the Sun, the accent and the legends of the country..."
I love the music that I have been playing since the age of 4 (10 years of music school, rock group as a teenager, electronic zik for around ten years) big Fan, ultra fan of roots reggae, ska, rock, electro zik, hip hop etc..... All the good zik.
I have wanted to play reggae for several years but my professional activity prevents me from doing so.
I am 31 years old and I have been in Morocco since 2007 in Dar El Bayda (Casablanca in Moroccan).
I work in Casa where I am well established in a good neighborhood. I go back to see my family quite often almost every quarter.
I immediately felt good at Casa thanks to the welcome and hospitality of the Moroccans and Casawoui who are really very generous, friendly, friendly and warm (in all sincerity really).
We have a lot to learn from Moroccan hospitality.
I don't really have the opportunity to travel well in Morocco, it's a shame but it's coming little by little.
I really want to learn Derija (Moroccan Arabic dialect) but it's really not easy in terms of pronunciation.
I try to talk as much as possible, whether in my work or in everyday life and it is very appreciated.
The food is really good here and we often go for Kefta D'Jamel (minced camel meat) which I love.
There are a few moments of blues or homesickness, normal things for anyone who has left their roots and their environment.
Not everything is perfect in Morocco, far from it, but life is good there and it's really cool when you know how to adapt...
Another little extract of a song to illustrate the fact of expatriating or simply traveling.
Song always written by RASPIGAOUS (you will have understood that I love this group and Zik in general):
"escape, escape far
go see reality, touch my hands, move
Go look elsewhere if I'm there
get out of my golden prisoneeee...."
Here you go, a little bit of my life.
Good luck to all expats and a big thank you to all the people who welcome us with their hearts.
Peace!!!!
