I am currently living in the UK, however I am planning to move to Kuala Lumpur to build my future. I have trained as a social worker and had previous experience in early years education working in England. This works in line with the Early Years Framework which looks at improving the quality and range of education and childcare from birth to 5 years. In the summer of 2013 I spent three weeks travelling around South East Asia and was drawn to the cultural vibrancy Malaysia has to offer. Since my return to the UK I have been making plans to go back and experience more of life in Kuala Lumpur. I have undertaken a TEFL course and hosted a number of Malaysian Students who have taken a year to study in Birmingham. I am learning the Malay language in order to familiarise myself with Malaysian culture and now feel that gaining some experience of working with education in Malaysia will be helpful for working in a globalised society.
