Reasonable cost of living, the residents are friendlier than in London, good transport networks, many mosques and halal restaurants, many English schools offering free or low-cost courses. Manchester is the equivalent of Lyon, both in terms of population and lifestyle.
Umma less active than in London but I think it is proportional to the size of the city, London is unbeatable in terms of Muslim events.

Improve my level of English and visit; I took courses at A2Z English for 5 weeks.
The city, the monuments, many free museums, mosques open all the time, the many halal restaurants, very practical transport.
Expensive transportation and rent
