Hello, I arrived in Dammam in late October 2014 on a 4-yr contract as a Project Director for one of the large Saudi industrial conglomerates. Although I lived in Saudi before (I worked in Riyadh for 5 years from 2008 to 2013), I don't really know the Dammam/Khobar area since I only came here occasionally on short business trips and never really had time to pause & look around. I'm now looking for a good Residential Compound where my wife and I could live in a more ''western'-type' environment, all the more so that we have a pet dog which I do intend to bring here along with us, which rules out any other possibility of living in the city proper... My wife, although she does speak English, isn't too comfortable speaking it yet, and consequently, mostly for her, I'd like to understand better where or in which Compound we could find some level of French-speaking community so that she can make friends more easily. If anyone can shed some light on that issue (which I do need to take into account for her sake), please let me know the particular compound(s) you would refer me to. Someone mentioned Al Rushaid Village for instance, but you may know others also... Thanks again for your assistance in this matter. djvxxx
