I lived in a German apartment building and usually rode my bike to school, then bought a VW sedan before finally buying a BMW. I worked for the US and German governments.
Physical Education teacher, Director for Sport and Student Activities at the John F. Kennedy School in West Berlin.
I loved living in Berlin. Learning the language and cultural differences was great fun, and of course there was "the mission." My routine was normal - very busy - as I taught classsupervised all activities and then found time to train in wrestling for the US Olympic trials in 1984. Tthe food was outstanding - oder ausgezeichnet - with my favorite restaurants all over the city - I tried to eat at every one at least once. I fell in love with pizza tonno e chippola, Schultheiss Bier, currywurst mit pommes and Rita.
Nothing really - some people were nasty but that happens everywhere. On the whole I would say it was among the best years of my life living there.

Establishing a new company called HLAbrams Consulting to provide services such as teaching English as a second language to select clientele, editing written works such as dissertations, books and web sites, private lessons in various Physical education and Sports activities, conducting research and writing assignments, promoting the International Institute for Sport History (IISOH) Library and Museum, promoting sports such as wrestling and gymnastics.
Educator, consultant, Olympic Historian.
Beautiful city in a beautiful country. Excellent location for my needs to work and travel in Europe.
So far the only thing that bothers me is the amount of garlic used in food. Zuwiel knoblauch.

Born and raised in the City of Brotherly Love and went to the elite Central High School where I received a BA degree, not a high school diploma.
Cute and quiet little kid going to school from grades K-12.
Philly was a great place to live and be raised in a very happy and stable family (except for the cranky older sister). Played lots of sports, went to a swimming club every summer, visited great museums, followed great sports teams like the Eagles and was a big Phillies (baseball) fan until they lost the pennant in 1968 - and have not followed American baseball since! But that is really because I was in college and became a wrestler and trained for the next 16 years for the Olympic Games.
Mean people.
