About

I'm Beryl Gorbman, a writer from Seattle. My husband Jim Butler and I have lived full-time in Merida Yucatan for four years in a house I've owned here since 1986. I have written two mystery books about the area and one is available on Amazon Kindle. It's called 2012: Deadly Awakening. Another will be up next month and soon they will both be in print. The Expat Life part of my blog is about what it's like to live here.
Interests: photography, writing

Yucatan, Mexico

I write a blog, www.gorbman.com, and I write mysteries. I have wonderful friends from the USA, here, and other parts of the world.

Merida, although a big city, is still a charming, friendly place. It has its own symphony orchestra, lots of museums, good movie houses, and Starbucks.
It is much to hot here from May to September.

Temperate weather, lots of bookstores and coffee shops, relaxed culture, magnificent outdoors - mountains, lakes, ocean.

Jalisco/Yucatan by coadyp

Really want to move to Mexico in the next few years. have not decided on location, although I have been to Jalicsco and love it. it all depends on the financial piece. But am interested in developing real relationships with locals and expats alike.
