South Africa

Ngwerere, Zambia

Jan 2014 - Dec 2014

Ngwerere, Zambia

If you were any where out of Lusaka, you were in "the bush"!
The line between the elite and "average" was drawn no more clearly than in Zambia which boasts a higher standard of living than South Africa. We found as we did not have the same as others, we were not in the "expat club". Zambia boasts some awesome people, sadly we found the expat community to be snobbish as they judged us for what they thought we did not have. As it was part of my studies to remain modest and observe human behavior, I found this very old fashioned conscience rejection interesting in modern times - some things never change.

Ar Riy膩岣, Saudi Arabia

Oct 2010 - Nov 2010

Ar Riy膩岣, Saudi Arabia

Nothing much
I found as I had to work and be financially independent from a young age, being a woman in Saudi infringed on my freedom and I felt like I was living in a story book prison.

Karonga District, Northern Region, Malawi

Jan 2009 - Dec 2009

Karonga District, Northern Region, Malawi

Freedom Peace Simple Happy Place
As with anything "greener", Malawi came with its own problems, Malaria and corrupted officials

Kigali, Southern Province, Rwanda

Jun 1994 - Apr 1995

Kigali, Southern Province, Rwanda

It was family orientated
Conflict, always sad that people have to hurt others to empower themselves.

An elderly gentlemen I know in his seventies found himself back in South Africa and I agree, nationality is not a problem. Gaining medical help is founded on various factors. The only time nationality I find comes into it, is if the company you ... Read More
