About

Hello; I hope you can help me with some questions I have, well I have a plan to go and settle in Quebec, I'm a little ahead of myself and I already have the visa, well this week or the next I should receive the call to go pick it up, and between January and February 2011 I should be traveling to find a new future in those parts. Well, the reason for this email is that I still have some doubts about Quebec, but not about going because that is the only thing I am sure of, that I want to go and settle there, but about what to do when I arrive, I am at the crossroads of going to study first or work directly. Well, I am a Network and Data Communications technician, I studied this degree for 3 years at Tecsup, I have my degree and almost 5 years of professional experience but for my part I was looking into education in Quebec and I saw that they have something like the equivalent of my degree, a degree called Gestion de Reseaux Informatiques (420.AC) and that the degree I have here is something like the DEC of that degree. I have seen that it is not difficult to enter one of the colleges where they teach that but I still don't know if I can validate my degree to study 1 or 2 years and obtain that DEC or if I need to study the 3 years again to obtain that DEC. Now you might wonder why the desire to study? It's good that I heard comments that it is better to study there again and have a degree (a DEC) from the same Canadian government so that you have not more options to get a job, but to have more options to get a GOOD job and not only that but that gives you more options to be able to aspire to more, I mean an increase in salary, to advance at work, occupy better positions, try to get to a managerial position or have people under your charge or in the best of cases and exaggerating to reach the management of an area, you know, one always aspires to climb the ladder in a company, right? ...well, and I ask this because I heard that while it is true that arriving with your technical degree from Peru and the experience you have in Peru you can find a job, but not entirely good and that your aspirations are somewhat limited since it becomes somewhat more difficult to climb the ladder at work and without mentioning what I saw in some forums that call "positive racism" since there is only one racism and it is never positive. Well, I hope I don't tire you with these questions and that you help me clear up these doubts that sometimes don't let me sleep. You know, it's better to keep the degree you obtained in Peru? or study again in Quebec? Or the other, can you climb with the title and experience you had in Peru? Or does the title obtained in Peru limit you in your climbing aspirations? Thank you very much in advance for your help.
