About
Born in Bristol, UK. Lived in Israel from age 2 to 9, when my family migrated to Australia. Lost my first wife of 22 years to cancer. Currently married 18 years. Love sport, in particular Australian Rules football and cricket. I have been researching the existence and development of cricket all over the world, since the 1980s. Although its just out of pure interest, or you might say, a hobby, I have had it suggested to me over the years that I should right a book. Many countries which indicated that cricket did not exist in their borders, now have a level of cricket, with some having gone on to Affiliate or even Associate status in the ICC. As an example, I wrote to the cricket authorities in Suriname in the mid 1980s, encouraging them to seek ICC affiliation, given the level of club activity and competition they already had in place. It took them a few years, but they finally did seek affiliation and, at this time, are Associates. My interest in Moldova is with a view to encouraging the game of cricket, in particular, to communicate with the blogger who's been trying, it seems in vain, to get something going in Chesnau, first in 2013 and again in February 2015.

Hi, this is David from Australia. I know there are clubs that would visit Chesnau for several friendly games of cricket, even if you can only muster one team. This type of visit is likely to help you in establishing an ongoing entity and, hopefully, ... Read More
