Roberta Piva was born in Locarno, Switzerland. In December 2003 she qualified as an Italian language teacher in Lausanne while pursuing her passion for oriental dance and Egyptian folklore. After two years of training in Egypt, Roberta Piva passed her exams at the International Institute of Oriental Culture ISOC in Cairo and became the first Swiss to graduate in oriental dance and Egyptian folklore. The Director of the institute, Prof. Hassan Khalil, considers her today as his artistic daughter. In November 2009, Roberta Piva won second prize with the Raashastars company at the International Oriental Dance Competition in Cairo "Nile Group Festival". In November 2010, she and Amal won second prize again in Cairo. Roberta Piva has been an internationally recognized dancer and dance teacher for 10 years; she dances and teaches the art of oriental dance and Egyptian folklore in Switzerland, Morocco, throughout Europe and the rest of the world in festivals and seminars. She is currently working on the creation of the Wave & Dance project in Tamraght - Morocco. A professional dancer, she regularly performs in prestigious shows and evenings in Morocco, Switzerland and abroad, notably for the Saudi Royal Family, Swiss federal councilors, television channels and embassies.
