My expat journey

Cuenca, Ecuador
We were involved in starting an English-speaking Christian church in Cuenca.
Also, we like to write about our experiences in our blog: www.grimmsecuadortraveltales.blogspot.com.
I was a paralegal / administrative assistant / executive assistant -- but now am retired.
Cuenca is a wonderful place to live. It reminds me of what living in the States used to be like (in the 1950's) -- and the weather is exactly like where I grew up (at the beach in Southern California). Because the cost of living is so low (for us expats), we can travel and live more extravagantly than in the States (all of our income in the States went to paying expenses -- but in Cuenca, we have money left over to have fun!).
Getting used to the culture and learning the language are drawbacks. Luckily, we both have a natural curiosity and are adventurous and positive people -- so we've been up for the challenge.
