My expat journey

Rio de Janeiro, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Swiss architect under contract in Brazil for 1 year with the intention of creating his architectural studio specializing in the renovation of dilapidated buildings and in the creation / planning / coordination, eco-responsible.
In addition, my wife and I would like to meet established or newly established expatriates to better adapt and meet outings/events/exhibitions.
See you soon.
HES architect, certified Autocad 2D / 3D - EPIQR - Revit, Specialized in building obsolescence, site coordination and planning, building savings and energy.
10 years as project manager, monitoring construction sites.
5 years of administration of funds and resources in real estate management as well as monitoring of state project files.
Rio is incredible for the friendly side and the excitement created by the parties, the Carnival, the incredible evenings ending at the end of the night, the atmosphere in general.
It's a huge city and yet very easy to live in when you know the right neighborhoods and the right people.
The other side of the coin, it's noisy, it's too touristy, the beaches are made for crowds in front of giant buildings. The food is varied but the restaurants as a whole are unattractive.
The favelas can be dangerous and there are a lot of robberies or homicides.

Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, Rh么ne-Alpes, France
The family chalet since 1979 (first foreigners - origin of my family - to have been able to buy and build in Argenti猫re)
In Argenti猫re above Chamonix.
I own (currently) a quarter of it, so rental possible.
Apart from small renovation work, no trades in this village.
Skiing, the landscape, the tranquility, watching the snow fall when I am in the wood fire in the living room, certain Savoyard dishes, walking in the mountains especially in autumn.
Spring because the grass after the snow has melted is atrocious.

Gesves, Wallonia, Belgium
Village of part of my family. I spent many months there during my childhood and I still have many contacts in Belgium (one of my wedding witnesses lives in Mons).
We still have our family home in Gesves.
I have returned there many times for vacation.
Other cities where I lived: Li猫ge, Namur, Brussels and the village of Ohey.
No work carried out in Belgium
Country life and calm.
Very welcoming people, bistros where you finish very late with friends.
The fog in the early morning which gives the impression of being in some melancholic film.
The weather which too often remains gray with a little light rain.
The houses in town which have remained the same since the end of the Second World War, very monotonous made of bricks.

Geneva, Switzerland
My old life
My professional, romantic, social experience. (Mostly)
The mountains, the snow, the sense of respect for various social systems and the peaceful side of small restaurants in small villages.
Sport: ice hockey, tennis and a little football.
Laws blocking the right to a more flexible life without regulations destroying the middle class. (Overpriced insurance with ultra-high deductibles, taxation destroying normal marriages by mixing the two salaries on the high base, overpriced communication and a general snobbish, materialistic spirit geared towards success by crushing others.
