Arrived in Milan at the end of September 2010 after almost 3 years in Hong Kong as a sports journalist and English teacher. Hong Hong is a fantastic city, an often comic blend of old and new, half-naked middle-aged Chinese men walking amongst silk-suited bankers without the slightest shame. Great ex-pat community, social life, weather, salary, I recommend it to everyone. In the last 18 months it's occurred to me how expatriated I've become, how the wish to live outside England far outweighs that to return. I moved to Milan for work and travel,trying to build up contacts and currently commentating on Italy's favourite passion, football. Fortunately I love pasta, pizza and wine.
