I have had many experiences living over seas, Egypt, Hong Kong, Ukraine, went to school in Italy and lived in other courtiers for short spans. I have an apartment in St. Wolfgang Am See, Austria because many of these countries I was not able to have good medical facilities and Austria has high standard of health treatment. Also a great place to feel relaxed and safe. I have now retired and use my place on the lake during the summers. Since I have moved far away from where I grew up, S.C., I have moved twenty times and leave behind many friends. This is why I am reaching out to this website. I would like to make friends with other who are, or have been, an expat. I feel to be different than most who never leave the state they grew. Not sure why but when I went back to visit my family I was talking about how it felt to be a South Carolinian and my mother jumped into the conversation to tell me I was NOT a South Carolinaian. I asked why and see told me, "YOU LEFT". I have left many a country does this mean I'm an alien? The one very special, useful adventure this travel has given me is what I write about. I have 3 books published and one more very soon to be published, but this writing is not my goal. I also write screen plays/ movie scripts. Moving around does not keep me from writing, that is if I have my computer an the internet handy. But as I was beginning to explain this advantage has a down side. . . hard to keep friends. Here I am hoping to find expat friends whom I can relate. I'm 40 km from Salzburg part of the year and the other part in Tucson, AZ. I'm a good listener, and write a good story, terrible cook... no I take that back...I don't live to cook but if you are hungry I'll cook for you. Would like to for your to contact me on this site.
