My name is Mike & I've lived in St. Louis for most of my life outside of college & a year in Orlando, Florida. A few years back I had some health issues that I was able to treat/cure naturally which has really helped shape who I am... Today, I appreciate natural things & like to get outside & explore. At the same time, even more so than previously with the upcoming presidential election, I'm regularly disgusted with the continuous trashing of the United States by those in power & reluctance of the majority of the people to care about it. I recently traveled to Germany & Austria & it just felt right. The mountains, fresh air, flowing water, quality food, incredible public transportation system, people riding bikes... the majority of the people I met seemed genuinely happy & educated. I was really impressed that almost everyone I met spoke English fluently... That really helped considering I had only learned basic German prior. Now I want to learn to speak German & more... Hopefully I'll find the time. Anyway, I'd like to meet some Americans friendly enough to share their experiences... dos & don'ts... If I do move to Austria, I assume I'd work towards citizenship & eventually renounce my American citizenship, so any advice on that would be especially appreciated. I would be able to work close to full-time online as a design consultant, which will hopefully allow me to live where ever. In my limited research, Bad Ischl sticks out... Though I've never actually been there. I did like Innsbruck a lot & it meets my criteria as well... I have not been to Vienna & though it does meet my criteria, I'd rather live somewhere smaller... But then if the online work doesn't play out, I'm sure it would be easier to find a job in a bigger city.
