About
Like most young Americans, I grew up enjoying the amazing tastes of east coast style pizza. In 1991, I was inspired to broaden my horizons, and so I moved to the windy city of Chicago. From coast to coast, this marked the beginning of my love and appreciation for traveling and a yearning to travel across the globe.
I worked as a broker for a large multinational corporation for over 25 years, which provided me the opportunity to fulfill my goal to travel the world! I first visited Cambodia in 2007. I explored the wonders of Angkor Wat, where I found the spirit of the Khmer people to be infectious and inspiring. During this time, I was fortunate enough to get involved with a remarkable NGO, Honour Village, Siem Reap Cambodia: http://honourvillage.org/
The aim of this NGO is to help and educate young Cambodians towards a strong future. I found that being part of this inspiring organization was very uplifting and motivational, and this is what brought me to where I am today.
For the past four years, I have been able to deliver over 50% of the charitys funding through a variety of fundraising events in Hong Kong.
My life in the investment world came to an end in 2012, so I decided it was time for a change: a change that was rewarding emotionally and spiritually. In May 2013, I moved to Siem Reap to continue my work with Honour Village Cambodia and help the children with their education. I teach English, computers and geography to the children. And through this work and being involved with some great people, I moved on to a new venture. I welcome you to Belmiros Pizza & Subs! Its not just any ordinary pizzeria; it is a restaurant where the children will benefit from growing their own herbs and vegetables and somewhere that will continue giving to the children.
