Hello, My friend and I are Swiss and live in Switzerland. We arrive in Melbourne on February 19. My friend works as a pastry chef for a caterer and also knows how to cook very well. Her dream is to be able to bake in Australia and gain even more experience in this country. Unfortunately, as Swiss we are not entitled to the Working Holiday Visa, and it is almost impossible to obtain a work visa while still on Swiss territory. I am enrolled in a school for six months in Melbourne and I will have a student visa allowing me to work 20 hours per week. My friend is going to try to find a remote sponsorship but we know it's difficult to find a job this way. To begin with, he will have a 3-month tourist visa and will look for an employer on site who will be ready to sponsor him. So we are looking for people here on this forum who are somewhat in our situation and who want to share their experiences with us :-). So...
