I'm Laura... from Palermo... always traveling around the world... alone!! I have traveled and met (not as a "simple tourist"... but by "living" in the places..); I have been all over Europe (except Russia and Finland); Australia ; Egypt ; Sri Lanka and part of India; I lived in Mexico and traveled by bus throughout Central America (Costa Rica, Honduras including the islands of Utila and Roatan, Nicaragua, Venezuela, Belize, Colombia) I visited Jordan; Tunisia; Santo Domingo, Cuba (including Cayo Largo..); I've been to Cambodia and some in Vietnam; ..lived for 2 years in the Canary Islands (Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, Tenerife and Lanzarote); ...also in Portugal, especially the Algarve and the islands of Madeira and Porto Santo; Philippines, islands of Cebu and Palawan; Cabo Verde archipelago (islands of Boavista, Sal, Mayo and Sao Vincente); Sicily (together with all the islands, Pelagie, Egadi, Ustica, Pantelleria and Lampedusa). As I said before, I have always traveled alone (I have had it for 11 years the decision to leave your "permanent" job to discover the world!); mine trips are "to discover" places and cultures... never "passing through"... I decide the destination (sometimes casual, instinctive..) and I leave so... on an adventure, without knowing anything or anyone... once at the arrival airport...the adventure begins!! I start by talking to the local people and I ask for suggestions for "living" the country...getting to know its characteristics..integrate into their culture...I never give myself one "expiration" (I live time...without time, in fact!!)..I only purchase the one way ticket and then I decide to move and/or change location without it too many programs, in fact often none at all!! I also arrived (this recently ..after the flight from Manila to Rome Fiumicino) to stay one night at the airport without yet knowing what other destination reach..."waiting for inspiration"(!) and observing the video of the flights leaving to draw some possible...suggestion!!..that has arrived from an airline hostess...by chance she saw me "confused" and not worried...she laughed (!) after listening to me for 10 minutes, she suggested I go to Boavista...flight scheduled for the next day...mine! Now, would I like to return and settle in Santo Domingo, Mexico or...? Caribbean area preferably! I need to find a job to do it and I hope that thanks to "expat.com" I can find it soon!!
