Stefano Carlini was born in Verona (Italy) in 1960 and studied violin, viola, piano, composition, conducting, attending specialization courses in Italy and abroad for years and with eminent teachers, including G.Causse, F.Ayo, D.Asciolla, F.Carotenuto, Piero Bellugi, Donato Renzetti, also receiving some awards since 1975 (National Young Musicians Competition-Milan HI-FI Exhibition). Already an instrumentalist, first part in solos with prestigious symphony and theater orchestras and chamber music ensembles (including the Orchestra della Gioventù Musicale Italiana, Orchestra Internazionale d'Italia, Orchestra ATER, theaters in Venice, Bari, Treviso, etc.) he has performed concert activity in Italy, France, Holland, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Poland, the Russian Federation, and made recordings for Italian Radio and Television, Japanese Television, for Suddeutscher Rundfunk ORF with music by contemporary authors, for Nuova Era, Sonoton, Bongiovanni. He was part of the jury in the P. Lantier International Competition in Paris for the chamber music section, nominated to participate in evaluation commissions at the Italian State Conservatories of La Spezia, Mantua, Venice, Udine, Adria, Commissioner for the tenure of teachers for music schools, Ministerial Commissioner for the tenure of Conservatory teachers. Already a teacher in various summer courses in Italy and abroad, a professor at the national conservatories of Castelfranco Veneto and Trieste, he was a teacher for over twenty years at the A.Pedrollo Conservatory of Music in Vicenza where he taught viola, chamber music, violin, carried out workshops and free courses for musical practice with direction to instrumentalists and singers. He regularly holds master classes in viola, together with strings and violas, and conducting opera orchestras. He is currently a viola teacher at the G.Verdi Conservatory in Milan where he recently held a course on contemporary performance practice, especially of modern and contemporary Italian composers, particularly post 1950. He has collaborated with eminent musical and artistic personalities, including Bruno Tosi, Daniele Rubboli, Rudolf Angermuller of the Mozarteum of Salzburg, for the S.V.E.T. publishing house, as a guest conductor in theaters and philharmonics foreign.Fundamental for his artistic directorial personality was the meeting with the maestro Donato Renzetti and the participation in some prestigious lyrical-symphonic productions of the Maestro himself to whom he owed much of his human and technical-professional experience. His artistic and teaching activity has seen him collaborate with national and foreign historical archives for the study, transcription for viola, interpretation and performance in modern times of manuscript music, or taken from ancient editions, and to disseminate the historical experience of the opera conductor Tullio Serafin. He was the founder and musical director of the Opera Giocosa del Benaco, carrying out for several years the activity of organizer and also performer in concert seasons in the vast area of ​​Lake Garda, and then artistic director of Opera Giocosa Italiana with which he presented productions of operas also in co-production with theaters and foreign private and state organisations, concerts, artistic seasons and conferences with favorable reception and appreciation for the style and quality of the cultural dissemination carried out.
