Hello everyone! I'm Emeline, I'm 22 years old. It's now been a year and a half since I left France. At the beginning of 2016 I went on a university exchange to UPLA (Valparaiso) in Chile, where I also did my 3rd year undergraduate internship at the Natural History Museum. I took the opportunity to do a month-long road trip to Peru. When I returned from Chile, I went to the Canaries, more precisely to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, where I have been working since September 2016 as a French language assistant. I finish my contract at the end of the month and return to Chile for a month, before returning to France for two months for the season... But here's the "problem": I'm a crazy Chile fan. I have been really interested in this country for 3 years now, and I go there twice in one year. I have the real conviction that my life must be spent there, so I try to develop by all possible means a sort of network and contacts (haha). The must of the must to be registered on expat.com would be to have "datos" to work in the V (Valparaiso region) and also to share with other people about our respective experiences :)

I spent around ten months in Las Palmas, in the Canaries. I have very good memories of it, and I met some very nice people, but I will not spend my life in the Canaries. If you have any questions about the Canaries, I will be happy to answer you: I have been to La Gomera, Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura and Lanzarote.

The mentality of the people (very closed > island) As for my experience, the locals I met in the Canary Islands mostly made racist remarks towards me, and the kind people I met can be counted on the fingers of one hand.
