My expat journey

Granite Falls, Washington, USA
We live here to be close to our grandchildren. Summers are beautiful. But winters... not so much.

Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico

Baghdad, Mayorality of Baghdad, Iraq
I worked all over Iraq as an inspector during the 2nd Gulf war. I'd love to come back to this country when peace and security is achieved by all of the long-suffering people in this region.
Airworthiness Inspector for a major aircraft manufacturer.
The people of this region are truly the salt of the earth. Very kind and highly educated. Tremendous history and cultural richness is waiting to be explored.
The time I spent there was during a bloody and terrifying war. I wish the people of this place can find peace soon.

Butzbach, Hesse, Germany
My primary duty station in the Army - 3rd Armor Div. 2/3 Field Artillery

Born and raised in So Cal. At the age of 12 I moved to the Pacific Northwest.
It was great growing up in SoCal as a child. Warm perfect weather, days on the beach.
It has changed since I was a child. Dirtier, crowded, violent, less friendly... I don't miss it.
