My name is Dominique and I have been coming to Slovenia regularly for 3 years, on vacation in the region of Ilirska Bistrica, which is located in the southwest of the country, 30 minutes from the Croatian coast. It was my husband Patrick who brought me there the first time to visit some long-time friends of his, a Franco-Slovenian couple who live in a peaceful little village on the heights of Bistrica. We fell in love with the country and the people, warm and authentic. So much so that my husband is in the process of realizing a professional project: he is moving to Slovenia, it's a real challenge ;) I will join him regularly, whenever it is possible for me to take a few days, with the medium-term project of a permanent installation. Only one frustration: the language difficulty: I try to be regular in my learning but my professional activity in France and my related activities do not allow me all the time that I would like to devote to it. Why did I register with "expat"? I don't know where to start: need reassurance from other French expatriates? for advice on life in Slovenia, tips and good deals?
