My expat journey

Tunis, T奴nis, Tunisia
Planning on relocating in the summer of 2018 with my family.

Seattle, Washington, USA
Seattle is absolutely gorgeous. The trees. The rain. The summer weather. Natural beauty everywhere. And the best coffee! Perfect place to curl up on a cozy chair with a book and a coffee! Oh and this may sound strange, I used to live in Las Vegas which is crawling with cockroaches ?? it?s very very hot and dry so...but here in Seattle lived here 3 1/2 years, never seen a single one!!
But life isn?t about drinking coffee and reading books, well at least not if you have a big family ?! It is very expensive because of the explosion of the tech industry and all the people that have moved here. The housing market is one of the most expensive in the USA. You can rent a two bedroom apartment in a decent area of Seattle for about $2,500 per month. And while I mentioned I liked the rain, it?s great, but when it rains everyday for two weeks straight you do want to see a little sun ?? this is the price of the beautiful forest life. Oh and no roaches, but lots of mold, you have to invest in a ?dehumidifier? for the rainy season to keep your home dry inside!

Tunis, T奴nis, Tunisia
My oldest was enrolled in preschool learned a lot of Arabic and socializing. I was taking online classes through my university back in Las Vegas. Kept me busy and was happy that amazon delivered my textbooks quite fast to tunis! And no one wanted to steal them
Fresh weather, traveling around to different beaches, being aloof, coffee shops with husband, dinner out with husband, family support, feeling like every outing with husband was a date
Well it is not America. The way people bundle up in down jackets with wrapped up scarves for their necks when it?s 65 degrees lol

Las Vegas , USA
It?s a wide open space and the winter and spring is awesome. Lots of sun. Very affordable! Great friends and surprisingly vibrant Muslim community, some of the best people I?ve ever met!
It still is Sin City and that will affect you eventually. It is very very hot in the summer! Cockroaches! Yuck!
