I have just finished an employment contract and I have a nest egg in front of me. Some time ago; I met a Thai girl there; 3 years younger and we are very much in love (hours and hours of chat and phone calls per day) and I am tired of living far from her. However; even though I hadn't gotten to know her; my goal was to come and live in Thailand and find a commercial location to rent there (rather on the Jomtien beach side because the Walking Street - beach road and second road side is more than blocked). Of course I want to start "small" to begin with (I rather see a mix between the cocktail bar with terrace and the possibility of catering - I am a trained chef and my experience extends to being a waiter and bartender as well..) As for housing; I am more interested in a Guesthouse type apartment furnished or not (I am interested to know if the difference is so huge) But I need to know everything that is possible about the steps to be taken (visa - health insurance and others - the various formalities - knowing the marriage laws in Thailand and various obligations)
