My name is Pam and I came to Australia about 3 years ago to be with my daughter, her husband and grand daughter. I am originally from the north west but lived near London for some 40 years. I left my close knit circle of friends, a great job and a lovely house so the big move was very much out of my comfort zone! Ageism seems alive and well here so I haven't been able to find a job, despite having years of experience as a facilities manager. Thought I would get a job straight away and meet new folk through work. finding it hard to make friends, most people my age don't seem to want new friends so I thought I would have a go on a new arena!
