I was born in the city of Hull but lived most of my life in Yorkshire coastal towns - Whitby, Scarborough, Filey and Roos. Served in the British army as an officer for 22 years, subsequently worked in education, tourism, transport and printing industries. Settled in Slovakia on a whim in 2010 whilst driving around Europe, just fell in love with the place. Worked for three years for Slovak military as a specialist English teacher before forming my own consultancy - Language Services and Management Systems. Decided to retire early and have found a beautiful traditional village house close to a National Park, which I should move in to in spring 2018.
