About
I am currently at the University of Boise (Idaho) for several months.
I have problems with the university's financial services:
Before leaving, the university asked me (and 2 other students who were leaving with me), if we were interested in on-campus accommodation, to which we said yes.
When we arrived there, and we were shown these rooms, we immediately refused to accept these which (for several reasons which I will not detail here) we did not like); so we never returned to these rooms, and rented apartments off campus on our own.
I would like to point out that apart from the request made online from France (before leaving for the US), no document was signed by us which would formalize a legal commitment.
The problem is that the university debited from our account the entirety of what we would have had to pay if we had taken these rooms on campus, including the daily food which was included with the rental, while obviously, we do not benefit from it.
In the end, the university is asking us for $4,000 each, and although we have already "fought" to have this debt canceled, they persist in asking us for this amount.
Has anyone ever been in this situation? and what can we do to get out of this mess?
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help us.
