About
I was born in the Paris region to a modest family, a French father and a Vietnamese mother. I lived there for 30 years and built my professional career. I currently live in Champagne Ardennes with my husband and our 3 children. I am a business manager and passionate about my work. The companies I manage have been operating in the green energy market since 2007 and have been collaborating with Portuguese partners since 2016. For a year I have been going back and forth between France and Portugal and the more I discover this country and its people the more I love them. Despite all my efforts to free myself, I only spend a little time with my family because my work monopolizes 80 hours a week of my time and this situation is becoming unbearable for everyone. This is the predominant reason that pushes me to break away and take a step back from France, but not only that. We live in a region where the sun never shines and the state of mind of its inhabitants pushes us to flee their negativity. I have often had to travel to countries where the economy is much worse than ours. For the most part, including Portugal, I find smiling, warm, friendly people, with deep family values and an unwavering belief in the future. Each time I return to the country, the observation is always the same. Negativity, daily and redundant complaints are everyone's lot. People no longer smile and spend their time complaining, the lack of sun undoubtedly has a lot to do with it. So far, my husband and I have managed to keep our children from this destructive state of mind, but for how much longer? For our family, sharing is an essential condition for our development, which I find every time I come to Portugal. Currently we are actively and determinedly preparing our departure from France which is planned for the month of September, provided that the applications of my 2 boys are accepted at the French school in Lisbon, otherwise the departure will be postponed. My 18-year-old daughter remains in France to begin her studies at the advanced business school. She is currently living in the United States as part of her linguistic study and is expected to return there in 2019 to continue the second year of her Bachelor in tourism management.
Regarding my experience in Portugal, I must say that it is very intense, I discovered warm people there, who welcomed me into their home with great kindness, and without any judgment, I shared their family meal, their roof each time I came, and we were even invited last year with our children to share the suckling pig at the Easter meal. Our entire family is happy to share new life experiences within a culture that promotes family values. We are all looking forward to it already and I hope that your site will provide us with information that we will observe for the success of our integration. See you soon to discover your respective experiences
