Arriving in Tampa, Florida in 2015 with my husband on an E2 visa, we first launched a crepe food truck. We quickly realized that French food was not as popular as we would like to believe. Americans aren't that curious and above all they don't like sweet things that much. So we quickly bounced back and changed concepts and decided to turn to a 100% American product: grilled cheese! The grilled cheese is simply the American version of the croque monsieur. Cheese between two slices of bread that can be garnished with all kinds of vegetables, meats, and sauces. Planet Grilled Cheese was born in May 2016 and we have had phenomenal success in Tampa Bay! A few months after the opening of this new food truck, we opened a store in the food court of a Mall located in Lakeland, between Tampa and Orlando. After a great year in 2017, we decided to franchise our concept. Our goal is to develop in Florida initially and why not in other states.
