I am a university professor of surgery (full) still in service, but, once I retire, I would like to move to Portugal, preferably, or to another country not too far from Italy and Europe, with a warm temperate climate and a quiet and stable social situation. I have always enjoyed good health, but about 4 years ago I suddenly discovered that I had kidney failure. Fortunately, after a short period on dialysis, I received a kidney transplant and now enjoy good health, although I require periodic tests and specific medications to keep my transplanted kidney active. From what I have already read on the blog, I shouldn't have any problems with covered healthcare once I move to Portugal. Any information on this would be very helpful to me.
