I moved with my 12 year old and husband to escape the smog of London and have a better quality of life. I was born in London and lived there all my life. 2017 was a year of non-stop terrorist attacks and gang culture is rife. My daughter didn't even feel safe going to school!

This really was "escape to the country" in terms of scenery and beauty. We swapped a 3 bedroom terraced for a 4 bedroom 4 story Yorkshire stone house and no mortgage!
Harrogate is considered the jewel of the North. It is a beautiful, picturesque town with a really dark underbelly. My daughter started a new school, was bullied and isolated for being a southerner. Harrogate teenagers are either stinking rich or working class. Lots of kids are in the care system! There doesn't seem to be any middle ground. My daughter was unfortunately influenced by the wrong people and I had 6 months of hell. A once obedient, loving child started to become desensitised and alienated. She repeatedly went missing and I spent my entire time in this town liaising with police and social services. Nightmare! Could have happened anywhere but anti social behaviour, racism and drugs are rife here!
