I was roommate with a colleague who arrived about a month after me. The company paid for the accommodation. We just had to pay the charges. Salary with accommodation: 2500 lei/month (around 550?/net per month).
And then I was able to buy a 'pisica' (a kitten) which I miss :/.

The Romanians are super welcoming, it's quite similar with Lisbon because it's a very lively city (Bucharest).
Sometimes +40 hours/week of work, unpaid overtime.
If you like peace and quiet, don't stay in the heart of Bucharest because it is very lively in the evening from Monday to Sunday, public holidays included ^^.
