I am originally from the state of Georgia in the United States, but have lived all over the world. I have lived and worked in seven countries as a commodities broker and teacher. Later, I became a long-distance hiker, thru-hiking the 2,180 mile Appalachian Trail and 2,663 mile Pacific Crest Trail. I lost 33 (15 kg) and 43 (20 pounds) respectively on those long treks. I then wrote and published popular narratives about them. Later I wrote about overseas treks, and just completed my first novel. I am now working on a book about Americans traveling to poor countries called 'Travails'.
