I live abroad because in my native country I no longer felt safe from going to prison. We took advantage of the fact that my wife was a Doctor in the more medical program for Brazil at that time and we planned the escape. I had to close 2 private businesses that I had in Havana, leave my house, comforts, three children behind and leave as quickly as I could. My civic activism made me a target for repressors. My constant demand for civil rights in my country, activism in the form of denunciation and my emotional impossibility of not fighting an injustice that denigrates human dignity, It caused a witch hunt to descend upon me, forcing me to leave my home to remain free. My history of confrontations is long and I have documentary and testimonial evidence of what I say. Because of my age, I belong to the generations of adolescents marked by the collapse of the socialist camp in 1991 in Cuba. I lived firsthand that entire stage of the revolutionary process in Cuba and I know in detail its entire sick and obtuse structure. The opening of the hermetic system in Cuba to the incipient and new Western tourism and its consequences on society. I like to think of myself as a broad connoisseur of the Cuban spectrum in all manifestations of life in Cuba and a passionate conversationalist.
