My expat journey

Papeete, French Polynesia

France

Split, Splitsko-Dalmatinska, Croatia
Split, between sea and mountains. A little over 2 years of expatriation which took us to almost all of Croatia, and to neighboring countries (Montenegro, Bosnia Herzegovina, Slovenia).
As part of the replacement of Splitska Banka's information system, I assumed the role of deputy project manager in charge of the technical components of the project.
The sea on one side, the mountains on the other. The feeling of being on vacation every time you're not at work.
Difficulties faced by foreigners, even those in good standing, for many things: Taking out an Internet package, registering a vehicle, etc.

Belgrade, Serbia
Serbia is our third expatriation, and follows the birth of our second child.
A country unfortunately little known, and which still retains, in the minds of many French people, an image of a country at war.
The reality is quite different, Serbia is a young, dynamic, welcoming country which deserves to be known.
Technical manager on a digital transformation project for a local bank, a subsidiary of Soci茅t茅 G茅n茅rale, I supported my client in all phases of their project, from the choice of infrastructure to the deployment of the solution, integration, training of technical teams, specific development specifications, etc...
Discovering Serbia requires effort. But anyone who makes this effort discovers an exciting country with a rich history and varied geography.
The climate, too cold in winter

Papeete, French Polynesia
We arrived in Tahiti 6 weeks after the birth of our first child. Polynesia was a fabulous setting for his first months of life.
Island life is very different from what we have experienced in the past. We learned to appreciate it.
Consultant for the Bank of Polynesia, I participated in the modernization of their information system.
I was in charge of various subjects such as data recovery, supporting IT teams for the deployment and configuration of the new core Banking, integration with external systems and local systems, as well as desktop publishing.
Almost everything, from Polynesian culture to local gastronomy, the different islands, all different and all endearing.
The flight time to get there... But paradise has to be earned.
Yes, Polynesia is a bit of paradise on earth for those who know how to appreciate it.

Abidjan, Ivory Coast
Ivory Coast was my first country of expatriation. Expatriated as a couple, without children for a little over 3 years, I discovered the joys and surprises of life far from my native country. There I learned to question my certainties, my model of life, my model of thought, and to understand that the world is varied, and that the richness of expatriation lies in our ability to absorb this variety.
Consultant to the local subsidiary of Soci茅t茅 G茅n茅rale as part of the replacement of their Core Banking, I was in particular in charge of training and supervision of local developers, as well as monitoring data recovery.
The kindness of the Ivorian people, the variety of landscapes, the warm welcome.
This era marked the beginning of a troubled period for C么te d'Ivoire. the multiple coup attempts, successful or not, sometimes made us experience unpleasant moments of uncertainty.
