About

Hi! I am Hungarian, met my husband to-be as a missionary in England. I returned to Hungary and some years later married him, a half English-half Welsh man in 2001, returning to the UK for 15 years. We have been blessed with 5 children, lived here and there in the North West, eventually moving to Hungary in 2016. Husband's been working as self-employed in the UK for a good while, but once we moved undertook work engagements also in Austria and Germany. Due to the strain this work situation put on family life and not having found suitable alternative over there, we have returned to the UK in 2019. We have been home educating our children for most of the time, they have all had a taste of school life in Hungary due to legislations over there, albeit only shortly and only one of them spent as long as a term (f茅l茅v). Our youngest did go to kindergarten for three years, but only as it suited both him and us and we were happy with the lovely teachers he had. I am familiar with the laws of the UK and Hungary on home education. I have been trained as a peer breastfeeding counsellor in 2006 by La Leche and breastfed all five of our children. I have fought for newborn babies to be checked at birth for tongue-tie and for midwives to get training in spotting tongue-tie, as well as more trained practitioners in releasing it, having had the struggle to first feed then getting treatment for our second baby, who had the condition (4 out of 5 did). Also 4 out of 5 of our children were born at home and spent their first year or two on me mostly (carried them). I believe God has a purpose for us, for me; and besides being a helpmeet of my husband and bringing up our bilingual, bi-cultural children in Christian faith, He has a plan for us in moving between Hungary and the UK.
Interests: christianity, Smallholding, sustainable building, homesteading, herbal medicine, poultry keeping, breastfeeding, home education / homeschooling, big family living, self-sufficiency, sustainable and healthy living, permaculture, homebirth, wool spinning

Update on Hungarian home education rules: Hungarian children need permission from the Education Department (Oktat谩si Hivatal) to learn at home. It is highly likely that goes for foreigners wanting to settle too, but I have no knowledge of the ... Read More

As we are digressing immensely from the topic of the original conversation, I will be short. I would just like to point out that natural and herbal remedies are not the same as homeopathy. Eg. garlic is scientifically proven to relieve symptoms of ... Read More
