Live closer to the Eindhoven city and have visited quite a few places in and around Amsterdam and Eindhoven.

Calm, serene and quite a good Expat population with proximity to Indian shop/ hotel, daily groceries. Lot of friendly people who are highly helpful and English speaking.
Not a happening place though... very calm, very quiet.
Milan, Italy
Lived as a bachelor and was enjoying the stay for around a year... visited most places in and around Milan, Venice..

Fun... Capital of Fashion.. very happening, crowded.
A bit though lack of cleanliness... few places shabby...and language..
