I am a Canadian with a Turkish husband and Canadian-born son who is 5 yrs old. After a recent visit to Eregli-Konya, Turkey for 2 weeks (August 2019) to visit my husbands relatives (after a 9-yr absence), we realized what weve been missing out on in life since my husbands arrival to Canada 20 yrs ago. We are now very seriously thinking of moving to Konya, Turkey permanently within the next year (hopefully before my son starts Grade 2 in September, 2020). The city is very close to where my husbands relatives live so it would be an ideal location for us. I dont speak Turkish at all (just a few words) and would love to connect with an English-speaking expat currently living in Konya, and who is also planning to stay there for awhile (2020 and beyond). Would love some general info/advice about living in Turkey, and possibly making an expat friend before our arrival next year! I have never moved to a foreign country before, let alone somewhere I dont speak the language, so this is all very scary, overwhelming, exciting, nerve-wracking for me, all at once!
