We got to know this country through occasional visits to Portuguese friends. We rented there for the year and one thing led to another and we ended up buying and restoring a ruin in this small village near Pombal. It was an extremely enriching experience on how these people operate and perceive us... I would be delighted to share my little experience with anyone who would like to settle in this region of Portugal and who feels the need for local support.
