About

Widower with three very young kids (5, 4 and 2 yrs). After my wife passed away (Dec 2010) from cancer decided to rush back to Nairobi, where it is so much easier to have help with my children. And started my own business so I can work from home, and travel less than I used to for Research Institutes and NGOs. Had been working in the Development sector for 8 years (in Zimbabwe, Nigeria and Kenya). But with my current family situation, travelling is no longer an option for me. And since I happen to be good with people, logistics and cars, I set up: www.expat-to-expat.com Please do consider us when relocating to Nairobi, we can help you and your family have a 'smooth' landing in Nairobi. We do all the things that would be time consuming to you and take you away from focussing on your new job: (in order of business size): CARS - Car Import Consultancy (we help you select and import, and think ahead and advice you on reselling the car when you leave) - Brokering cars of expats who left or are leaving soon (we assess all cars we broker, even from expats and still have to dismiss about 1/3 as not well maintained) ACCOMODATION - finding your (temp) accomodation (can be remote, before you even land, we end you pics and make sure the place meets your criteria and the services are upo to date), - advise on schools choice for your kids (based on where you come from, where you are going to and what your current budget is, we can help you narrow down the choices; location/logistics are also considered). Our fees are competitive, while our tag line is: By expats for expats; We are 100% Transparent, not earning any extra commissions; We charge flat consultancy fees for our services.

@Sachmo when did I say something generally negative about all locals? And when did I say all expats are Muzungu's? I have worked with more non-Muzungu expats than with Muzungu's! And many non-Muzungu expats are now my clients understanding and ... Read More

Dear Longonot62, In my experience as a 聭white Mzungu聮 [cause Mzungu literally means (any) foreigner], not only car dealers but also local mechanic/garage owners always try to earn more on me, assuming that I would not have technical knowledge. They ... Read More

Dear Longonot62, I see from earlier posts that you know much about vehicles, but I respectfully want to challenge you point on having vehicles maintained at main dealers only. I think it is rather naive to think that main dealers always use ... Read More

Hi Isherwood and others, I so much recognize myself in your considerations when wanting to buy a car in Nairobi. It can be quite an ordeal even if you no much about cars; you are constantly aware that you get quoted different prices because you are ... Read More
