My expat journey

Lisbon, Lisbon, Portugal

Austin, Texas, USA

Cant贸n Central de Heredia, Heredia, Costa Rica
Learning the Spanish language and obtaining TEFL certification
Teacher and instructor with the State of Texas
I love the rainforests around Costa Rica from Antonio Manuel to Puerto Varga south of Limon. The beauty and balance of nature and people is fascinating and beautiful
I'm not really a fan of hot weather all year long.

Ganja, G菨nc菨, Azerbaijan
Peace Corps volunteer doing Community and Economic Development projects
Economic development assisting local organizations apply for international grants for funding economic growth.
I enjoyed the uniqueness of Azerbaijan and the world of Muslim religion. I enjoyed experiencing and learning about their ways of life and beliefs.
The area was a little too remote and desolate for m.

Ban Dong Chang Kaeo, Chiang Mai, Thailand
I worked with, at the time, my wife on various community projects she was involved in supporting.
Teacher/professor
I loved that area of Thailand in that it had distinct seasons...fall, summer, and winter.
There wasn't really anything I disliked.

Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
My wife and I worked on a few short projects as volunteers
Teacher/professor
Ottawa is a wonderful place from the art museums to the government buildings there are a large number of things to see and do.
I enjoyed all of Canada during the time we were there. Whether we were in Montreal, Quebec, or Toronto the people were very nice.

Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico
While I was growing up, my father and mother wanted me to live outside of the U.S., in cultures different from what I knew and understood from the U.S. Every Summer break from 1974 through 1976 I spent Summers in Guadalajara and/or Mexico City.
Student
Mexico City and Guadalajara are wonderfully historic places to see and visit. I was fortunate that I was able to spend as much time there as I did and learned what I did of their culture and history.
There was nothing I dislike about the places I saw, lived in, or visited.
