After 30 years of work in a UN agency in Geneva, it was not easy to turn off the 鈥渆ngine鈥� by retiring. I always have this need to stay active, either by studying or by working. I have been a non-habitual resident in Portim膩o for 3 months. I like the region, especially out of season. I am enrolled in an advanced Portuguese conversation course. Next month, I will start a financial accounting course with the aim of learning more about the tax system in Portugal and, possibly in the future, helping Swiss nationals with their settlement procedures in the Algarve, if necessary.
