My expat journey

Nairobi, Kenya
I came to Kenya following my Kenyan husband who studied in Belgium and is now finalizing his PhD in Nairobi. We stay in a nice house in a quiet neighbourhood and we have 2 wonderful dogs.
I work for an NGO called Ecumenical Pharmaceutical Network, I am their communications officer. I also work as a freelance journalist for the Belgian magazine Bodytalk and take on freelance translation work once in a while.
The sun, the many beautiful places to visit, my husband, our house and garden and our dogs.
Unfortunately, it's still not home but I'm hoping to get there.

Leuven, Belgium
Born, raised, studied, worked in Belgium until I followed my Kenyan husband to Nairobi in January 2010
For 2 years, I worked for Human Interface Group in Mechelen, the BEST in usability (ask me what usability is). I also started working as a freelance journalist for the Belgian magazine Bodytalk, which I still do even while in Kenya.
It's still home...

Indeed. Way too expensive! My husband and I have 2 guest rooms in our house and we rent them out to short term guests for less than 2K per day, including food and utilities. Do the math! Contact me. Read More
