My expat journey

Brussels, Belgium
My husband is Belgian (Flemish) and for convenience we decided that I would be the one to move countries. I hope to start working next year and from there it will be a matter of time before I can integrate into Belgian society 100%.
Since I don't speak Dutch or French, it's not that easy to find a job. So I spend it at home and go to language school.
Brussels is a beautiful city, very safe and quiet (obviously, compared to Mexico City). I love its cultural diversity and its tolerance towards visitors and immigrants.
The climate is undoubtedly one of the points against it, although after a year of living here, I am more than used to it. You can't have everything, right?

Mexico City, Mexico
There I was born, I grew up, I learned, I dreamed, I fell, I got up, I rubbed myself, I loved, I hated, I enjoyed, I was happy, I ate, I danced, I studied, I worked and I left many friends and my family to follow the man of my life.
I worked mainly in customer service and services, and I worked at radio stations, travel agencies and equipped and virtual offices... extensive, right?
They say that no one knows what they have until they lose it, and without a doubt, what I like most about my country is the food and even more so now that I can no longer enjoy it. I love enchiladas, green mole, rajas and Oaxacan tamales, chicharr贸n gorditas and cochinita tacos.
Insecurity, corruption, pollution and all those evils that afflict my third world country.

Hello, I live in Brussels not in Leuven but i think that the cost of living is the same all over Belgium. You mention 600 euros for one month but I don't know if you are talking about only food and transport (maybe a beer too) or if you are ... Read More

Do and don't in Belgium by expat.com
Are you living in Belgium? We need you to share your experience of the local customs :) Is it difficult to adjust to the local customs in Belgium? Could you please share with us a list of the do's and don't's in Belgium? Thanks!
I think that is very easy to adjust to life in Belgium. It depends how "open" to new things you are; In my case, i spent a year cursing the weather and the "lack" of spicy food.5i'm mexican). Now, i just enjoy all the variety of restaurants and ... Read More
