Warmer than most other parts of Europe in winter, and closer to my two sons.

I emigrated to South Africa from the UK when I turned 21 and studied for my CIS qualification. Married, had three children and lived in various parts of the country.
Chartered secretary/accountant.
I loved Cape Town when we moved here in 1976 as we could travel all around at weekends exploring the area.
We recently had our front door smashed open and three robbers rushed in. Two neighbours working from home heard the terrific crash and us shouting for help and came to our rescue otherwise we do not know what might have happened to us. We no longer feel safe here and are keen to leave.

Grew up in north London and attended school there. Visited grandparents in rural Hertfordshire at weekends.
Started work as a trainee electrical engineer but failed my second year exams so had to go into the RAF for my national service and trained as a telex/tape relay operator. Got a job in charge of the telex department of a large company in central London on my discharge.
Rural Hertfordshire.
Lousy weather, chocking smog and crowded London.
