Well hi there. This is the beginning of my adventure; +forty, +weight, +children, +relationship and starting a new life in Lyon. I'm working at a language school in Lyon, having arrived on Saturday with 3 cases, a guitar, a very pink piece of hand luggage and a large red handbag. I managed to spark a small security alert in Lyon station (on September 10th - didn't really think about that?!)while I was trying to transport myself and my luggage out of the station. I couldn't find a trolley to put my cases on and, as I told the armed police officers at the station, I only have two hands for my 3 suitcases...I had to keep leaving one outside a shop, walk a few metres with the others, park them, and go back for the errant case. LOL. Anyway, I'm here, the sun is shining and it's a strange day. I had lunch with some guys from Interpol on Monday by accident which only added to the surrealness (is that a word?) of the situation. I am here by choice having accepted this job only offered to me about 2 weeks ago and my feet haven't touched the ground. So, I think that's enough for now. I'll blog again when I've got a minute but I'm off to have a nice cold beer because that's what I feel like doing and finish my chick lit book before I move onto the James Wilcox Southern Baptist one...Talking of Baptists, if you are one, can you get in touch? I'm a Christian and would love to meet up with some other people and I've got to find some digs (in a nice area) very soon. Any ideas??
