hello, my husband and I bought an apartment 2 years ago. our plan is to come and live there most of our time as soon as we have the opportunity. the pension is a few years away, so we anticipated our purchase here, in order to be comfortable there once the end of our careers arrive.
why tenerife?? for the climate. When I was younger, I loved the heat, the sun beating down strong as we say back home. now, I can no longer stand 30 degrees in the shade. Tenerife is therefore a perfect destination for my husband and me. here, it's spring all the time :-) we bought in the south of the island, near the sea. We are in the golf del sur, it's not a big tourist resort, there is no beautiful fine sand beach, but pebbles and black sand. At first it's confusing, but it has its charm. I like to walk via the wooden bridge to Los Abrigos...
what I like least... the fact that everyone speaks English. I'm learning Spanish and so here I try to speak it as much as possible. and the Spanish answer me in English. English tourism is very important on this island, and therefore, as soon as they see that you are not from the country, English takes precedence. so I kindly tell them that I would like someone to answer me in Spanish.
