I need some advise, please. We have a reservation on hold for 3 more days to fly from San Francisco to Quito in January 2012. We will stay in Ecuador until 2/15/12. About 3 weeks. I am wondering if it would be a better choice to fly into Cuenca. We are interested in looking at real estate and also relaxing and getting a feel for the country. We are thinking of retiring, but do not want to live in a huge city, but have one close by. My husband needs a place for a "shop" and a garden, also we have two German shepherds and one cat. In other words, a condo would not be a good fit for us, but I love to shop and dine out, so like to be near those things. Quito looks like a challenging journey, if we were to fly in and then out of there, but visit Southern destinations. Also, are there any good reliable dentists in the Cuenca area. How realistic is it to come into Quito, explore the Andes and the coast and return to Quito to fly home ( in three weeks?). Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Cate
